May 2025 - Purple Ribbon Homestead

Purple Ribbon’s Reese Witherspoon is my (we can’t say favorite because it’s bad juju) number one pick for our 2024 first fresheners! This spicy little redhead is out of Hallie and sired by Nasco! Our first Nasco udder did NOT disappoint. She excels her dam (who is an “E” in mammary), in attachment! Something I really wanted for her. She freshened late April 2024….I held off breeding her until later wanting to use an off-site buck at a collection we attended but her spiciness prevailed and she refused to stand (that’s even with repro drugs in her system haha!). I would have sold her for five dollars that day LOL. She is going to go the distance and this is one to watch!!

Second freshening mammary is absolutely beautiful! She freshened in early April 2025 with triplets I am allowing to stay with her to really push her production this year. Reese also stays fat on air and that is something I really appreciate in a dairy animal who excels in the milk pail.
